- 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 cups uncooked orzo
- 5 garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cups chicken broth
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 tsp basil
Seasoning for chicken
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Directions
- In a large skillet or a cast iron over medium heat, cook the seasoned chicken for few minutes or until golden brown. Set it aside.
- In the same pan, sauté, onion, garlic and the seasoning until fragrant.
- Add orzo and stir until it’s fully incorporated.
- Pour the broth and heavy cream.
- Transfer the chicken back into the pot. Cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes covered until most liquid is evaporated. Make sure chicken is thoroughly cooked (internal temperature 165°F)
- Garnish with parmesan and fresh parsley.
